The supplementary examination is usually held 2 months after declaration of the Part 1 (Primary examination). The aim is to permit unsuccessful candidates a second chance at passing the part1 Examination. The good thing is that successful candidates in this supplementary examination then get opportunity to join the original batchmates and appear for the scheduled Part2 (Final Fellowship) examination with them thus most importantly NOT LOOSE precious months in the academic career.

Candidates unsuccessful in the Part 1 Examination MUST REGISTER for the SUPPLEMENTARY examination latest within 15 days of the declaration of result. Procedure is the same as applying for the part1 exam with the exception that life membership and Self Assessment subscriptions are not repeated for this exam.
